Bobcat Hydraulic Cylinder Repair in Fontana

When a lift arm sinks on its own or a tilt cylinder can't hold its load, a Bobcat is out of action just as completely as if the engine had died. Our Fontana cylinder bench rebuilds Bobcat lift, tilt, boom and steering cylinders under one roof — resealing, rod work, barrel honing and pressure testing all done in-house.

Bobcat cylinders rebuilt on our own bench in Fontana

Cylinders on skid steers and track loaders lead a rough life — side loading, pins running in grit, rods working in dust from dawn to dusk. Each cylinder we take in is stripped and measured, rod and barrel alike, and rebuilt according to what those measurements demand: fresh seals and wear rings, rods re-chromed or made new when they're bent or scored, and barrels honed back to the right finish. Before any rebuilt cylinder leaves here, it's pressure-tested.

Reseal or full rebuild? The measurements decide

Plenty of Bobcat cylinders honestly need nothing more than a reseal — and a reseal is all we'll sell you in that case. Others turn up with scored rods or tired barrels that would shred a new seal kit within a month; those get the rod and barrel work that makes the repair hold up. Either way, the call is made from measurements taken off your own cylinder, and you see the quote before any work starts. We're open Monday–Friday, 6 AM to 5 PM, and rush help runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • Rebuilding lift, tilt and boom cylinders
  • Checking rods for straightness, then re-chroming or manufacturing replacements
  • Honing barrels and replacing tubes
  • Seal kits fitted, then pressure-tested
  • Renewing pins and bushings at the mounting points

Questions owners ask us

My Bobcat's lift cylinder sinks under load — will a reseal fix it?

Sinking like that usually points to internal bypass — piston seals that are worn or a barrel that's scored. At teardown we measure barrel and piston, then quote the repair your cylinder genuinely needs.

Can a bent Bobcat cylinder rod be repaired?

On our bench a bent rod gets replaced rather than straightened — we machine a fresh rod to the original dimensions and rebuild the cylinder around it.
